I am passionate about my career. Photography is a passion of mine, but I actually started with videography first and still shoot video today as well (my BA degree from Sacramento State is in Journalism with an emphasis in Digital Media, where photography came in).
After graduating from Sacramento State in 2010, I picked up photography while I was contributing for the Sacramento Press. I started with photojournalism and candid photography and really enjoyed capturing genuine real emotions. I then got into portrait photography when I became a school photographer for Lifetouch.
I have done other forms of photography, including sports, event photography, family portraits, maternity shoots, food photography and more.
The glue that puts all my accomplishments together is that I love working with people. I enjoy telling a story through my work and capturing priceless moments. It's icing on the cake when I get to see the joy on people's faces of what I captured of them. I love what I do and my goal is to create priceless memories with my camera. Whether it's photos of property, food, or a portrait or candid moment of raw emotions, my goal is to capture something that lasts.
Awards, honors and recognition
I was a 30 for 30 recipient for the Sacramento Observer in 2012. I won 3rd place for the Sacramento Press Open contest in 2013 for my coverage on the Food Literacy Center in Sacramento. I won for photography as well as videography and reporting (writing).
A fun fact about me
I am a cameraman for the Sacramento River Cats. I am the rover camera, AKA 'Fan Cam' during games and I film fans to be shown on the big screen in between gameplay, as well as fan participation games and events during the game. I started as an intern for the River Cats in 2009, got hired the year after in 2010 and have worked there since.
