When I was in middle school, I started doodling my classmates when I was bored. One girl used to twist her face in a way that made me giggle, and so took my pencil and tried to copy it. When I showed it to her each time afterward, she tried to recreate the look to no avail - it was then that I realized that she might not ever make that face purposely. That, and I had somehow captured her likeness in my notebook, recording it so others could also giggle at that face she was making. My first candid moment.

It's only years later that this kind of serendipitous happenstance became something I discovered I could capture more brilliantly in photography than any other medium.

My style is governed by the ease, adaptability, and preference for candids of street photography, but with heavy influence brought by a background as that doodler. I believe capturing more is always better, and I like weighing my options for editing and retouching when I'm culling. I believe there are many ways to "save" a "bad photo", and I think that flexibility shows in the ways that I both take and post-process my work.
