Awards, honors and recognition

Let me start by saying that I rarely win anything. Maybe it's because I only play the lotto whenever the payout is enormous; I never enter any other kind of contest, makes sense, right? So when I saw the "Nikon Camera, Boston Red Sox, and Hunts Camera" contest, I almost wrote it off because I'm a Canon camera shooter. For some reason, though, why not enter the contest? So I went ahead known that I couldn't win with a Canon camera in a Nikon photo contest. However, to my surprise, to see that I had won an "Honorable Mention" for my photo submission. I felt a sense of validation. I guess this post isn't to express my excitement for winning and say, don't second guess yourself; seize the opportunity. You never know who is watching, whom you will inspire, or who will contact you for a job. Ask yourself, why are you holding back from being as successful as you should?
