A portrait is great because it can convey truths and ideals in ways many other firms if media can not. A static image is something to be reflected upon, to contemplate. There is no watching involved but true observance. One has to ask themselves questions and to confront things stirring deep in them they may not have been aware of. In this regard, photography like any other artform is a vessel for change and examination, and to have that power is great and something I don't take lightly as an artist.
