I came to photography through the United States Navy where I served as a Photographers Mate - imagine that - yes they have those. Those years and the career that followed were oriented completely toward motion picture and television production. Some were as a motion picture freelancer. I also shot news on film for CBS.

Upon retirement from all that, I moved completely to still photography. I had been shooting some remodeled kitchens for a local contractor and decided to move in that direction as a business.

Today I'm involved with the VA Professional Photographer's Assoc. as Governor for the Tidewater District. I hold their Associate Fellow of Photography degree. I'm also a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) where I hold their Master of Photography Degree. These organizations are strong advocates for continuing education. I am devoted to doing more and doing better with whatever camera I hold.
